Title 1 at St. Joseph Elementary School

WHO ?
Mickey Gustina, ELA Teacher. Retired Buffalo Public School teacher with more than 30 years’ experience as a classroom teacher, reading teacher and building ELA coach.
Terry Drew, Math Teacher. Retired Buffalo Public School teacher with more than 30 years experience as a classroom teacher and Building Math Teacher.
We are excited about being a part of St. Joseph School and look forward to a productive year working with the students and staff here at St. Joseph School.

WHAT ?
* Provide support to classroom teachers in delivery of instruction in Reading, Language Arts and Math
* Provide instruction to students in small groups when indicated through collaboration with classroom teachers
* Keep open lines of communication with parents

WHERE ?
* Title I room is located in the basement off of the cafeteria
* We can more often be found in individual classrooms

WHEN ?
* Scheduled days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday during school hours.

WHY ?
* Children learn in a variety of ways
* Instruction should meet the needs of individual students
* Data must be reviewed and interpreted to find the best ways to provide the best possible instruction for each student
* Students need the tools and strategies necessary to achieve mastery
* Mastery requires multiple opportunities for practice
