Each year, dozens of students from St. Joseph University School have some fun and get some exercise with their classmates by playing on a soccer team in the "Parochial Kickers" spring soccer league. No prior experience is necessary and everyone is encouraged to participate – the season always proves to be a lot of fun for all involved.
Teams are divided into four divisions: Mite (Grades 1-2), Pee-Wee (Grades 3-4), Junior Varsity (Grades 5-6), and Varsity (Grades 7-8). The season runs from mid- to late April and ends in early June. Teams generally play 7 games or so. Practices are held at the time and place of the coach's choosing. The school's home field is located at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf (on Main Street near Sisters Hospital).
The soccer program could not run without the generous support of our volunteer coaches – if you are interested in being a coach or assistant coach (or know someone who may be interested), please contact Dennis Schaeffer at 341-4385.
